The brief

A working ceramic studio wanted images that felt like the room actually feels — not a clean product catalogue. Hands, tools, dust and daylight, with the finished pieces shown in context.

We shot it in a single afternoon. The interiors are lit to feel natural — warm and bright, the way the room looks when the light is right — never staged. The aim was a library that works for the shop, for galleries and for press.

"We thought we'd be in the way. Instead they waited, watched, and the studio just carried on. The pictures look like a normal working day — which is exactly what we wanted."
